PTA Advisory Board Meeting Minutes
December 11, 2007
Shannon Mitchell welcomed and called the meeting to order.
Minutes from November's meeting were approved.
Treasurer’s report was approved.
Grocery Cards – Please make sure you are paying for your grocery cards. If you are in need of any extra cards, please contact Nancy Miles.
Upcoming Thrift Shop Work Nights:
- Tonight's was canceled due to PTA meetings, no make up date yet
- Dec. 19th – Pittsboro Store – Boy's Basketball Team
- Dec. 19th – Siler City - 3rd grade
- Jan. 9th – Siler City - 1st grade
- Jan. 22nd – Silk Hope Hosting Thrift Shop Ex. Board Meeting
- Jan. 24th – Siler City - 8th grade
Old Business:
- Water Fountain – tabled.
- “Reading Rocks” fundraiser will be sometime in Jan. or Feb.
- BCBSNC Foundation we are still working on gathering numbers to write a grant for possible Nature Trail Equipment.
- Sonic Cards – Shannon is still working on getting those to sell.
- Script Gift Cards – We are real close to getting out the order forms for parents to order these gift cards as a fund raiser. This has the potential to be a great fundraiser for us.
- Spirit Wear Table is set up for tonight's General PTA Meeting.
- Still working on getting PTA Advisory Board rep from Mrs. Swimm's class.
- Yolanda Moody has requested a Sam's club card. It was determined that the best way, was for Yolanda to get the card and submit the bill for reimbursement.
- On January 22, 2008 we will be hosting the PTA Thrift Shop executive board meeting. We will be needing volunteers to bring food and to help with this event.
- Soon we will be in need of a new volunteer coordinator. We would like for this person to be able to spend some time working with Julie Inman prior to taking over this position. So if you or someone you know is interested, please let Shannon or Julie know.
New Business:
- On Dec. 17th we will be bringing in goodies for our teacher's to enjoy. If you are interested in bringing something in, please let Nicole Ward know.
- The Chatham County Rec. Dept. has purchased Marantha Springs and there is a Survey available for those who wish to have some input into what they do with this park. The survey is available from Dan Sunburg and will also be available on the school web site.
Budget Request:
- Dara Jacobs $60 registration for Math Counts program - approved
